Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix well.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Pour half of the cream mixture over the first layer.
- Sprinkle half of the cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the cream mixture.
- Add the remaining potatoes in a second layer and pour the rest of the cream mixture on top.
- Top with the remaining cheese and dot with butter pieces.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is a golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
- Let the casserole cool for 10 minutes before serving.
