Gluten-Free Buttermilk Biscuits

Instructions

• Preheat oven to 230°C (450°F).
• In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
• Cut cold butter into small pieces and mix into the flour until crumbly.
• In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk and egg.
• Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until a soft, sticky dough forms.
• Lightly flour a parchment surface and place the dough on it.
• Sprinkle a little flour on top and gently fold the dough over itself twice (do not overmix).
• Shape into a round about 1 inch thick.
• Cut biscuits using a cutter or glass without twisting.
• Place biscuits on a baking tray or skillet close together.
• Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
• Optional: brush with melted butter and serve warm.
