Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 2-quart baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the prepared dish.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Pour half of this mixture over the first layer of potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle half of the Gruyère and Parmesan cheeses on top of the cream mixture.
  6. Add the remaining potato slices in another layer, followed by the rest of the cream mixture.
  7. Finish by sprinkling the remaining cheeses on top.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  10. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley.
