Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Batter
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla, then mix in buttermilk.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients into wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
Step 2: Layer the Batter & Cinnamon Sugar
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly on top.
- Add the remaining batter and smooth the top. Sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.
Step 3: Bake
- Bake for 50–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack.
Step 4: Add the Topping
- Brush warm bread with melted butter.
- Sprinkle generously with extra cinnamon sugar mixture for a crunchy coating.
