Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, folding gently until just combined; do not overmix.
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a small cookie scoop or a spoon, drop balls of dough (about a tablespoon each) into the air fryer basket, leaving space between each donut hole.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up, turning halfway for even cooking.
- While the donut holes cool slightly, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.
- Dunk each warm donut hole in the glaze, allowing the excess to drip off, then place on a wire rack to set.
- Serve fresh and enjoy your delightful donut holes!
Chef’s Tips
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon to the dough mixture.
- If you prefer a thicker glaze, reduce the amount of milk in the glaze recipe.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
