Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is browned and onions are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain excess fat and add salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using). Stir to combine, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into rectangles, about 4×6 inches.
- Place a spoonful of the beef mixture on one side of each pastry rectangle, then top with shredded cheese.
- Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and seal the edges with a fork. Make sure they are well sealed to prevent any leaking during baking.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped green onions (if desired) and serving.
