- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 500g lean beef mince
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp plain flour
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 400ml beef stock
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 sheets (approx. 320g each) ready-made shortcrust or puff pastry
- 1 egg, whisked (for egg wash)
