Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prep
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9-inch or similar baking dish.
Step 2: Assemble Layers
- Lay half the green chiles in the bottom of the dish. Top with half the cheese.
- Repeat with remaining chiles and cheese.
Step 3: Mix Egg Batter
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and any optional spices.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered chiles and cheese.
Step 4: Bake
- Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes or until the top is golden and the center is set.
Step 5: Cool and Serve
- Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Enjoy with salsa or sour cream!
