Instructions
Step 1: Cook the Rice
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a baking dish.
- In a medium saucepan, cook the rice with 1 cup of water until soft and water is absorbed. Let it cool slightly.
Step 2: Mix and Bake
- In a large bowl, whisk together milk, sugar, salt, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Stir in cooked rice and raisins (if using). Pour into the prepared baking dish.
- Dot with butter and sprinkle with additional cinnamon.
- Bake uncovered for 50–60 minutes, stirring once halfway, until the top is golden and custard is set.
