Instructions

  • Prepare the Butterscotch Filling:

    • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to thicken. This should take about 15-20 minutes.
    • Once thickened, whisk in the beaten egg yolks and continue cooking and stirring until the filling is fully thickened and smooth.
  • Add the Finishing Touches:
    • Remove the filling from heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
  • Assemble the Pie:
    • Pour the prepared butterscotch filling into the pre-baked pie crust.
  • Air Fry the Pie:
    • Place the pie carefully into the air fryer basket.
    • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for about 5-8 minutes, or until the top of the pie begins to brown lightly.
  • Cool and Serve:
    • Remove the pie from the air fryer and let it cool to room temperature. The filling will continue to set as it cools.
    • Slice and serve once the pie is fully cooled.
